Recommended Repairers are available with immediate repair authority from the insurer's network of garages across the country (subject to workloads and replacement parts).

There is also a prompt windscreen/glass replacement service.

Guaranteed Courtesy Car

A courtesy car will be loaned to you while damage to your own car is being repaired by one of our approved repairers following an accident or theft. Typically, courtesy cars are small hatchbacks with a manual gearbox and are only available in the UK.

If your car is subsequently written off as uneconomical to repair by a Zurich motor engineer, you may keep the courtesy car for a further 4 days. Hire beyond this period is available at a preferential daily rate. If your car is stolen and not recovered, Zurich will arrange for you to have a courtesy car for a total of 7 days after the incident.

Automatic car insurance renewal

Many customers find automatic renewal is the easiest way to renew their car insurance.
If you pay for your insurance by direct debit, we'll write to you around 21 days before your renewal date with your new insurance certificate, renewal schedule and confirming the premium for the next 12 months. If you are happy, and none of your details have changed, you don’t need to do anything and your policy will automatically renew meaning you never run the risk of being uninsured.

Manual car insurance renewal

If you don’t pay by direct debit we will write to you around 21 days before your car insurance renewal date with your new insurance certificate, renewal schedule and confirming the premium for the next 12 months. This is your renewal invitation. Unlike automatic renewal, you must contact us and pay your premium otherwise your cover will end on the renewal date, and you will not be insured. If you want to make the process easier, and make sure you remain covered you can call us at any time to be updated onto monthly payments and automatic renewal.

Your Excesses Explained

The "excess" is the amount you will be asked to pay towards a claim.

If you suffer Accidental Damage to your car all claims will have a minimum excess of £100. This figure could be more depending on the type of car you own or if you have opted for a higher voluntary excess.

An additional excess will apply as below when the car is being driven by a young driver as follows:-

For Fire, Theft and Attempted Theft claims no excess applies if loss or damage occurs in your garage but for all other claims the excess is £100.

When you contact us

 You will need to tell us :

  • Your name, address and telephone number
  • The place where the loss or damage occurred
  • What caused the loss or damage
