Postage Costs and the Environment
As communication technology continues to advance, customers are becoming more accustomed to instant information via email and texts. Here at CSIS, we would like to encourage this.
Not only are emails more environmentally friendly (less paper used - less trees need to be destroyed, less fuel used for delivery etc.), it is also a far cheaper option. If we are able to keep costs down, as a not-for-profit organisation, we are then able to pass more on to the charity we support. Any available surplus goes to the CSIS Charity Fund with a smaller contribution being made to local charities around Kent.
Of course, we understand that this is not an option for everyone, but before requesting to have all paperwork posted, consider if you are happy with just the certificate, rather than all paperwork such as the policy booklets (often bulky documents) which often stay the same from year to year. Less for you to store in that kitchen drawer as well (which we know we are all guilty of).
CSIS are also looking into the possibility of a portal, where you can log in and all your documents are centrally stored – more to follow in the coming months – but again, giving you an alternative method for communication.
